Treatment that removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the root canals, and saves the tooth instead of removing it.
What to expect
Done with local anaesthetic, usually over one or more visits. The tooth is cleaned inside, shaped and sealed. A crown is often advised afterwards to protect it.
Aftercare
Some tenderness for a few days is common. Avoid chewing hard food on the tooth until it is fully restored.
