A crown is a cap that covers and protects a weak tooth. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by attaching to the teeth on each side. Both are fixed in place. We offer all-ceramic, gold, silver (metal), metal-ceramic and zirconia crowns; your dentist helps you choose by strength, appearance and cost.
What to expect
Usually two or more visits: the tooth is prepared, a mould or scan is taken, a temporary is fitted, and the final crown or bridge is cemented.
Aftercare
Brush and clean around the crown or under the bridge daily. Avoid very hard or sticky food on temporaries.
Removable partial dentures (RPD), including flexible dentures

A removable plate with artificial teeth that fills gaps where some natural teeth are missing. Flexible dentures use a softer, more comfortable base.
When it is needed
When one or more teeth are missing and a fixed bridge or implant is not chosen or not suitable.
What to expect
Moulds are taken over a few visits, the fit and bite are checked, and the denture is adjusted until it is comfortable.
Aftercare
It takes a little time to get used to. Take it out to clean it daily and at night unless advised otherwise, and come back if it rubs or feels loose.
Complete dentures

A full set of removable artificial teeth for an upper jaw, a lower jaw or both, when all the natural teeth are missing.
When it is needed
When all teeth in a jaw are missing or need to be removed.
What to expect
Several visits for moulds, bite records and a try-in, so the shape, colour and fit can be checked before the final dentures are made.
Aftercare
Eating and speaking feel different at first and improve with practice. Clean daily, remove at night if advised, and come for adjustments when needed.
